KARACHI (Dunya News) – After a strong rally earlier in the day, the Pakistan Stock Exchange lost momentum and ended the session in the red, dealing a blow to investors.
On the fourth trading day of the week, the market got off to a flying start as the benchmark 100 Index surged by more than 1,000 points to touch 183,717 points. However, the gains did not last long.
As trading went on, selling pressure kicked in and the market took a sharp turn, with the index shedding 1,113 points to close at 181,456. In the previous session, the index had closed at 182,569 points.
During the day, shares worth Rs31.07 billion were traded, with a total volume of 281.3 million shares changing hands, as the market gave up earlier gains and ended on a weak note.
