ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) - Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif on Thursday inaugurated ‘Pakistan Assan Khidmat Markaz’ in Islamabad to facilitate the people residing in the Federal Capital.
Addressing the ceremony, he expressed gratitude to the Azeri President Ilham Aliyev for providing support in the establishment of this Markaz.
The prime minister recalled his visit to Baku and said that he was greatly impressed with the services which were offered by Azeri government to its people.
He said that institutions including NADRA, Foreign Office, Police and others will work in this center and provide services to the general public.
The prime minister said that the scope of ‘Pakistan Assan Khidmat Markaz’ will be expanded in Muzaffarabad and Gilgit-Baltistan also.
PM Shehbaz vows to transform Pakistan into regional IT hub
He was also given a detailed briefing regarding the working of the center.
Earlier, Shehbaz Sharif said that efforts are being made to transform Pakistan into a regional hub for Information Technology.
The prime minister said that youth is being encouraged to acquire IT education and training, while entrepreneurship in the IT sector is also being actively promoted.
He said that providing Pakistani youth with international-standard education and training in the IT sector is among the government's top priorities.
The prime minister further said that the federal government is distributing laptops among high-performing students to support their academic pursuits.
