KARACHI (Dunya News) – Two alleged robbers were exterminated and six injured in shootouts with police in different areas of the port city, Dunya News reported here on Wednesday.
An alleged bandit was killed in an ‘encounter’ near Eidgah Ground in Sector B-5 of Bilal Colony Police. His accomplice managed to escape. Police claimed the alleged robber was involved in killing one 18-year-old Saad on January 4 during robbery.
SIU police exchanged fire with a suspected robber near Mochko Tent Colony. The action was taken on information about the presence of extortionists from the Jamil Changa gang. One accused was killed in the exchange of fire.
Meanwhile, Firozabad police had an encounter near Shaheed-e-Millat Road Hill Park. After an exchange of fire, one suspect was arrested in an injured condition, while his accomplice managed to escape.
Sachal police had an encounter with suspected robbers. After the confrontation, one accused was arrested in an injured condition. His accomplice escaped. Aziz Bhatti police arrested two accused, including one injured, after an exchange of fire near Dalmian Shanti Nagar.
Police arrested two suspects in an injured condition after an encounter near the Metropole Cemetery. Eidgah police arrested one suspect in an injured condition after an exchange of fire near Jubilee Market on MA Jinnah Road. A passerby was also injured in the suspect's firing.
Weapons, stolen goods, and motorcycles were also recovered from the possession of the dead and injured suspects. Cases have been registered against the arrested suspects under various sections.
