KP govt approves Rs4 billion for displaced families in Tirah Valley, Khyber District

PESHAWAR (Dunya News) - The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government has announced a financial relief package for displaced and affected families from Tirah Valley and Khyber District impacted by ongoing security operations in the area.

According to official sources, the provincial government has approved a relief package of Rs4 billion to address humanitarian needs and accelerate the rehabilitation process of the affected population.

The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Finance Department has formally approved the summary forwarded by the Provincial Disaster Management Authority (PDMA) and issued an official notification to the Secretary Relief. The notification includes clear directives for the transparent utilization of funds.

Instructions have also been conveyed to the Accountant General Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and the Deputy Commissioner of Khyber district to ensure strict financial oversight and accountability. Authorities have been directed to expedite the rehabilitation and resettlement process of families displaced from Tirah Valley, with a focus on timely relief distribution.

Sources noted that a similar request for funds to assist Tirah affectees had been rejected in November 2025. However, the current approval reflects the provincial government’s renewed commitment to addressing the hardships faced by displaced families and restoring normalcy in the region.
