ISLAMABAD (Dunya News): Adviser to Prime Minister on Political Affairs Rana Sanaullah on Tuesday said that Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) should abandon its illegal agenda.

In a statement issued from Islamabad, Rana Sanaullah said that the provincial government writing a letter for a briefing on terrorism reflects bad intentions. He said PTI does not even know who is carrying out terrorist activities in Pakistan adding that writing letters and demanding in-camera briefings is an extremely shameful act.

He said the PTI should be ashamed, and that such talk deserves condemnation. If they want an in-camera briefing, they should come to the Defence Committee, but they do not attend its meetings.

Rana Sanaullah said that efforts are being made to include the public assurances given in the 28th Amendment so that facilities can be provided to the common man. He added that after consensus, amendments will be introduced to address issues between the federation and the provinces.

He clarified that no discussion is taking place regarding legislation on increasing the voting age or extending the government’s term.

Rana Sanaullah said that according to government’s assessment, only a few people will come out on February 8, and there will be no need to impose Section 144. He again urged PTI to refrain from its illegal agenda, saying that they know nothing except violence.

He further said that PTI spreads negative propaganda on social media and keeps trying to present lies as truth. He expressed hope that Maulana Fazlur Rehman will not carry out any violent action on February 8, adding that they are fully aware of everyone’s role.
