Adverse weather disrupts flight operations, four flights diverted to Islamabad

Flights from Jeddah to Lahore were redirected to Islamabad, as were flights from Abu Dhabi and Najaf to Lahore.

LAHORE (Dunya News) - Flight operations across Pakistan have been disrupted due to adverse weather conditions, affecting multiple domestic and international routes.

According to the latest flight schedule, eight flights were canceled, while 53 arrivals and departures experienced delays across the country.

In Lahore, worsening weather conditions forced four flights to divert to Islamabad. Additionally, National Airline flights between Islamabad and Gilgit were canceled, and international flights from Abu Dhabi to Lahore saw two cancellations, along with two flights from Islamabad to Sukkur being called off.

Flights from Jeddah to Lahore were redirected to Islamabad, as were flights from Abu Dhabi and Najaf to Lahore. The disruption also impacted other major cities, with Islamabad and Karachi each reporting 14 delayed arrivals and departures, while Lahore saw 12 flights delayed. Peshawar Airport reported delays for eight flights, and Sialkot, Multan, and Faisalabad experienced delays for two flights each.

Airlines have advised passengers to check flight status in advance and stay updated through official channels. Authorities warned that adverse weather conditions could persist, potentially affecting additional flights over the coming hours.

Passengers are urged to plan travel accordingly and expect possible diversions or delays due to safety precautions implemented by airport authorities.
