Irfan Hayat Bajwa elected Lahore Bar Association president with 3,559 votes

Hamid Khan group's Bajwa wins presidency with 3,559 votes; supporters celebrate as key posts

LAHORE (Muhammad Ashfaq) – Irfan Hayat Bajwa, representing Hamid Khan’s group, won the Lahore Bar Association (LBA) elections president’s seat with 3,559 votes.

Adeeb Aslam Bhinder of Asma Jahangir’s group secured the second position with 3,154 votes, while independent candidate Shahid Jamal Butt came third with 122 votes.

The results of the Lahore Bar Association elections have been announced on Saturday.

After his victory, newly elected president Irfan Hayat Bajwa told supporters that the promises made to lawyers during the election campaign would be fulfilled.

Meanwhile, Mian Tahir Munir and Humayun Zaheer Bhatti won the vice president positions.

Zahid Mahmood Gul secured the vice president Cantt seat, and Asif Kanwal Khan won the vice president Model Town seat.

Malik Fahad Nisar was elected secretary with 4,210 votes, Samina Basra won the joint secretary seat with 4,251 votes, and Zohaib Khan secured the finance secretary position with 4,973 votes.

Additionally, Nauman Goraya was elected secretary library with 1,865 votes. Supporters of the winning candidates celebrated inside the Bar Hall, performing bhangra to the beat of drums.
