Rain-free cold spell grips Punjab as fog disrupts travel

Updated on:

Dry cold weather returns to Punjab as fog disrupts traffic, while Met Office forecasts possible rain from December 27 to 31 across Lahore and other districts.

LAHORE (Web Desk) - After a rain-bearing system passed without significant haste, dry and cold weather has returned across Punjab.

Morning and nighttime fog has blanketed Lahore and other parts of the province, forcing intermittent closures of motorways at various locations due to poor visibility.

According to the Pakistan Meteorological Department, another rain-producing system is expected to enter the country from December 27 to 31, raising the likelihood of rainfall in Lahore and most districts of Punjab.

In Lahore, the minimum temperature is expected to drop to 9 degrees Celsius, while the maximum may reach up to 18 degrees Celsius. Earlier, a western weather system moved across Punjab, including Lahore, without bringing rainfall.
