ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) — The National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA) has issued a warning about the possible rise in smog across several regions of Pakistan.
According to the NDMA spokesperson, smog is expected to increase in major cities including Lahore, Faisalabad, Multan, Bahawalpur, Sialkot, Gujranwala, and Sheikhupura.
The alert also covers Rawalpindi, Islamabad, various areas of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, and upper Sindh, where a rise in haze and reduced visibility is anticipated.
The NDMA warned that traffic flow may be affected in several cities due to the smog. The authority is taking all necessary precautions to deal with potential risks and ensure public safety.
Health authorities have also cautioned that smog can trigger respiratory illnesses, and residents are advised to take preventive measures, including limiting outdoor activities during peak smog hours.
