KARACHI (Dunya News) - Administrative negligence in Karachi has claimed yet another life as an elderly man lost his life after falling into an open drain in the Korangi area.

The tragic incident occurred near the Kabaddi Ground in Korangi No. 3, where the elderly citizen suddenly fell into the open manhole and died on the spot. CCTV footage of the incident has surfaced, showing the man losing balance and plunging into the uncovered drain

According to details, the deceased was a resident of Zaman Town, Sector 34/3. Local residents blamed the incident on the absence of a protective wall around the drain, calling it a clear case of negligence by the authorities.

Citizens expressed anger over the lack of basic safety measures and said that repeated complaints about uncovered manholes have gone unheard. They demanded immediate action from the administration to secure open drains across the city to prevent further loss of life.

Notably Karachi witnessed a similar incident few days ago when a 3-year old child, named Ibrahim, lost his life after falling in an open manhole.
