KARACHI (Dunya News) – Residents have dismissed reports of cracks appearing in a newly inhabited building in Karachi's Lyari following an earthquake as rumours.
According to a news agency, tremors were felt across the city, prompting residents of buildings to rush outside in fear and panic. Area residents said people from other localities also came out of their homes after the quake.
Residents further said that certain elements spread misinformation by claiming the building had become dangerous. They clarified that the building suffered no damage and people are still living there.
They added that a building mafia is attempting to seize properties in the area and that rumours about the building were deliberately spread for this purpose. All residents remain in the building and there is no truth to the claims.
