KARACHI (Dunya News) - An earthquake measuring 5.2 on the Richter scale jolted different parts of Karachi on late Monday night, Dunya News reported. The tremors were felt on I. I. Chundrigar Road, Saddar, Clifton, PECHS, DHA, SITE Area, Tipu Sultan Road, Pehlwan Goth, and Bahria Town.
People came out of their homes in panic and started reciting verses from the Holy Quran. No loss of life and property was reported from any part of Karachi due to earthquake.
According to National Seismic Monitoring Centre, Islamabad, the epicenter of the earthquake was located 87 kilometres northwest of Karachi at the depth of 12 kilometres.
Earlier, an earthquake measuring 3.2 on the Richter scale jolted Sibi and its adjoining areas in Balochistan province. The epicenter of the earthquake was located 53 kilometres northwest of Sibi at the depth of 11 kilometres.
