(Web Desk) – WWE legend John Cena officially bid farewell to his illustrious wrestling career at the Saturday Night’s Main Event held in Washington, D.C.
The 17-time world champion faced Austrian star wrestler Gunther in what turned out to be the final match of his career.
The contest, held in front of a packed stadium, was thrilling from the very beginning, with both wrestlers delivering a fierce and evenly matched battle. At one stage, the bout appeared to be going in John Cena’s favor; however, he was unable to withstand Gunther’s relentless and punishing sleeper hold and, in a surprising turn of events, tapped out. The moment left fans in the stadium stunned and deeply disappointed.
After the match, John Cena symbolically placed his shoes, armband, and wristbands in the ring—an unmistakable gesture signifying his retirement from professional wrestling. Fellow wrestlers and fans standing around the ring rose to their feet and paid him a heartfelt tribute.
As he exited the ring for the final time, John Cena looked into the camera and addressed his fans, saying, “It has been an honor to serve you all these years. Thank you.”
