Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif says Pakistan has overcome its economic crisis, citing improved indicators, IMF approval of a $1.2 billion tranche, and renewed focus on investment and reforms.

LAHORE (Dunya News) – Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif said that Pakistan has emerged from the economic crisis and key economic indicators have improved.

Addressing the inauguration ceremony of the National Regulatory Reforms, the prime minister said he was pleased to attend the launch of regulatory reforms, which had long been demanded by the public and the business community for decades.

He stated that the business community and investors had been troubled by complex laws and unnecessary regulations. When his government assumed office, the Pakistani economy was in a fragile condition and the country was practically on the verge of financial default.

The prime minister said inflation was out of control, the policy rate had paralyzed the economy, and business activities were stagnant. However, the government tackled these challenges with an effective strategy.

He added that by the grace of Allah, Pakistan has overcome the crisis and economic indicators have improved. He noted that the IMF has approved a $1.2 billion tranche for Pakistan, and emphasized that attracting foreign investment is essential for sustainable economic growth.

Prime Minister Shehbaz further said that youth are the country’s most valuable asset and the government is providing them with technical and professional training.
