US National Intelligence Director Tulsi Gabbard revealed that 2,000 Afghan evacuees may have links to terrorist groups. She criticized slow vetting and stressed the growing terrorism risk in the US.

WASHINGTON (Dunya News) – The US National Intelligence Director, Tulsi Gabbard, has revealed that 2,000 Afghan nationals who arrived in the US under the "Operation Allies Welcome" program may have links to terrorist organizations.

Gabbard criticized the slow vetting process during the Biden administration, pointing out that 18,000 Afghan citizens entered the US under the program, but their screening was inadequate.

She disclosed that 2,000 of those Afghan refugees have either direct or potential connections with terrorist groups, including ISIS. Gabbard emphasized that these groups are actively seeking individuals in the US to carry out attacks, making the situation a serious national security concern.

The National Intelligence Director further noted the increasing number of illegal immigrants entering the US in recent years, highlighting the growing risk of terrorism on American soil.

Authorities are currently conducting a close review of all Afghan evacuees to address these potential threats.
