Punjab launches online registration app for birth, death, marriage and divorce records

The app is totally integrated with the NADRA data system and will make sure that once a record is entered, it will be automatically updated on the national database.

LAHORE (Dunya News) - The Punjab Local Government Department, in collaboration with NADRA, has officially launched a new Customer Relationship Management (CRM) application to digitise civil registrations across the province.

Provincial Minister for Local Government Zeeshan Rafiq launched the E-Registration App, declaring that people would be able to register births, deaths, and marriages as well as divorces from the comfort of their homes. The move aims to make these services more efficient and transparent.

As per the minister, the app is totally integrated with the NADRA data system and will make sure that once a record is entered, it will be automatically updated on the national database without requiring any intervention. “With this online system, we will be eliminating any delay and discrepancies on the documents on behalf of millions of people,” he said.

According to additional information from Zeeshan Rafiq, the deal between the Local Government Department and NADRA aimed at modernizing Punjab’s Civil Registration System. The merge will also assist in getting a correct demographic composition.

According to the minister, the E-Registration System has been linked with the offices of the Union Councils in Punjab. This enables easy verification and registration at the grassroot level.
