ADB revises Pakistan's 2025 growth forecast upward to 3pc

Updated on:

Growth for 2025–26 is also projected to improve

ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) – The Asian Development Bank (ADB) has released its report on Pakistan’s economy.

According to the ADB report, Pakistan’s GDP growth forecast for 2025 has been revised upward from 2.7% to 3.0%. In the last quarter of the previous fiscal year, the growth rate was recorded at 5.7%.

The report states that large-scale manufacturing has picked up pace, and strong improvement is expected in the current fiscal year as well. Growth for 2025–26 is also projected to improve, and the overall business environment has been termed favorable. Despite the floods in June 2025, economic momentum remained intact.

According to the ADB, an increase in private-sector credit and consumption contributed to growth. Recovery in investment and industry is sustaining this positive trend, although external demand remains weak and trade faces ongoing uncertainty.
