LAHORE (Dunya News) - Dense fog forced the closure of a section of Motorway M-5 from Multan Shershah Interchange to Zahir Pir, Motorway Police officials confirmed.
According to the spokesperson of Motorway Police, visibility on the affected stretch dropped to dangerous levels, prompting authorities to suspend all types of traffic. The spokesperson emphasized that the closure is a precautionary measure taken strictly to safeguard the lives and property of commutators.
Motorway Police advised drivers to strictly follow lane discipline during foggy conditions, warning that lane violations can lead to serious accidents. Citizens have been urged to plan their journeys during daytime, as the safe travel window in foggy weather is from 10:00 AM to 6:00 PM.
Drivers using the highway network have been instructed to use fog lights, maintain a safe distance from vehicles ahead, avoid speeding, and refrain from unnecessary travel until visibility improves.
