ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) – Pakistan will launch its final nationwide anti-polio campaign of 2025 from December 15 to 21, the National Emergency Operations Centre (EOC) announced on Monday.
According to the EOC, more than 45 million children will be administered polio drops during the campaign to safeguard them from lifelong disability. Over 400,000 frontline polio workers will be in the field to make the drive a success.
In Punjab, polio drops will be given to more than 23 million children. Sindh will cover over 10.6 million children, while around 7.2 million children will be vaccinated in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
In Balochistan, around 2.6 million children will receive polio drops during the campaign.
The EOC further stated that about 460,000 children will be vaccinated in Islamabad. In Gilgit-Baltistan, 228,000 children will be covered, while more than 760,000 children will receive polio drops in Azad Jammu and Kashmir.
Health authorities urged parents to join hands with polio workers and ensure that no child is left behind. Parents were also advised to complete the routine immunization schedule for all children from birth to 15 months in a timely manner.
Officials stressed that polio eradication is a shared responsibility and said consistent efforts are vital to keep the virus at bay.
