ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) - Defence Minister Khawaja Asif on Friday said that the recent interview of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) founder Imran Khan's sister, Aleema Khan to Indian media has proved the final nail in the coffin for the PTI.
While talking to a private news channel, Khawaja Asif claimed that the PTI leaders pay extortion to the Taliban. He said the PTI founder consistently refused to engage with political leaders.
He stated that PTI had never condemned the anti-state narrative being promoted on social media.
He added that the party had also never spoken against the propaganda being spread against Pakistan. The minister said that no attack had ever been made on Pakistan’s integrity or existence by any political party except PTI.
The Defence Minister further said that in the past, when Nawaz Sharif gave interviews to Indian media, he never spoke against Pakistan’s existence or integrity.
He added that neither the PPP nor the PML-N resorted to actions like those seen on May 9. The PPP’s leader was hanged, yet even then they did not resort to anything like May 9. Benazir Bhutto was martyred, but even then the PPP never called out to India.
Khawaja Asif further stated that Nawaz Sharif was imprisoned and removed from office three times, but he never created an anti-state narrative or crossed any red line.
