Karachi Blues clinch Quaid-e-Azam Trophy title with dominant win over Sialkot

Karachi Blues won the Quaid-e-Azam Trophy, beating Sialkot by 218 runs as Saqib Khan starred with five wickets and Saad Baig dominated the tournament awards.

LAHORE (Web Desk) - Karachi Blues won Pakistan’s premier first-class cricket tournament, the Quaid-e-Azam Trophy, claiming the title with a commanding victory.

In the final played at Gaddafi Stadium, Karachi Blues defeated defending champions Sialkot by 218 runs.

Karachi had set Sialkot a massive target of 533 runs, but the entire Sialkot team was bowled out for 314.

Sialkot resumed play on the final day at 12 without loss, but despite resistance, the team collapsed for 314 runs.

For Sialkot, Afzal Manzoor (63), Abdullah Shafique (59) and Hamza Nazar (56) were the top scorers.

Karachi’s Saqib Khan delivered a match-winning performance, taking five wickets.

This is the 10th time Karachi Blues have lifted the trophy, while overall, teams from Karachi have now won the title 22 times.

Meanwhile, Mirza Saad Baig crossed 1,000 runs in the 2025 Quaid-e-Azam Trophy.

PCB Chairman Mohsin Naqvi presented the trophies and awards to the players.

Abdullah Fazal was named Player of the Match, while Saad Baig won Best Wicketkeeper, Best Batter, and Player of the Tournament awards.

Multan’s Ali Usman was declared Bowler of the Tournament.

Karachi Blues received Rs 7.5 million and the champions’ trophy, while the runner-up Sialkot team was awarded Rs 4 million.
