Talha Anjum leads Spotify Pakistan rankings

Updated on:

Talha has earned this distinction for the second consecutive year.

(Web Desk)- Talha Anjum has become Pakistan’s most-streamed artist, according to Spotify’s 2025 report.

Last year, Talha Anjum also remained the top local artist in Pakistan. Out of the 30 Pakistani tracks on the global Spotify list, 17 were sung by Talha. He ranked second only to the famous singer Atif Aslam and is considered one of the most popular singers among Gen Z.

Talha has earned this distinction for the second consecutive year, highlighting his continued popularity and influence in the country’s music scene.

Alongside Talha Anjum, the top ten Pakistani artists list includes emerging names such as Umair and Hasan Raheem.

Spotify’s annual Wrapped 2025 report revealed that listeners are increasingly favoring the creations of Pakistani artists.

The most-streamed songs of 2025 feature hits like “Jhol,” “Mand,” and “Pal Pal” while the album “Safar” topped the albums chart.

Hip-hop releases such as “Open Letter” and “My Terrible Mind” also gained notable traction, reflecting the growing influence of contemporary and urban music among younger audiences.

The Pakistani youth are gravitating more toward hip-hop music, while traditional and classical musical trends remain steady.

Despite the success of becoming Spotify’s top local artist, Talha Anjum recently faced backlash after a fan handed him an Indian flag during his Nepal concert.

The moment sparked criticism from media outlets and some celebrities. Talha later clarified that he accepted the flag only out of respect for the fan and without any political intent.

Talha emphasized that fans should not be confused with their governments, noting that individual admiration is different from political positions or national policies.
