ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) - A court in Islamabad has declared Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leader and former Prime Minister Imran Khan’s adviser Mirza Shehzad Akbar a proclaimed offender in a fraud and embezzlement case.
The decision was announced by Judicial Magistrate Muhammad Abbas Shah, who stated that despite repeated summons, Shehzad Akbar failed to appear before the court. The written order also directs the issuance of arrest warrants to ensure his detention.
According to the order, Akbar was summoned on multiple occasions but did not attend any of the hearings. After his continued absence, the court proceeded to declare him a proclaimed offender under the law.
Sources confirmed that the challan related to the case has already been submitted in court. The former accountability adviser to the former Prime Minister Imran Khan is facing allegations of issuing controversial statements on social media platform X. The case was registered against him by the National Cyber Crime Investigation Agency (NCCIA) in July 2025.
Following the court’s directives, relevant authorities have now been instructed to take immediate action to arrest Shehzad Akbar. Law enforcement agencies are expected to begin efforts to trace his whereabouts and ensure compliance with the court order.
Officials said the legal process will move forward in accordance with the law, and further proceedings will be taken once the accused is taken into custody.
The case remains under judicial review, and updates are expected as authorities continue their search for the PTI leader.
