(Web Desk)- Veteran actress and politician Jaya Bachchan sparked controversy on social media with her critical remarks about the paparazzi.
In a recent candid conversation, she expressed her strained relationship with paparazzi despite her long-standing ties to the media industry.
Jaya said, “It’s strange. I come from the media world, yet I have zero connection with the paparazzi. Who exactly are these people? Are they trained to represent the public in any way? Can they really be called media? I respect the media immensely and my father was a journalist, after all.”
Bachchan went on to describe her frustration with their behavior, saying, “These men standing outside in tight pants, holding mobiles, think they can take your pictures and write whatever they want. The kind of remarks they make and what kind of people behave like that? Honestly, they are like rats.”
Jaya Bachchan’s sharp criticism of the paparazzi has triggered strong backlash, with several photographers expressing disappointment and considering a boycott.
Paparazzi members stated that they consistently support the Bachchan family by covering their events, and feel disrespected by her comments.
Some, like Pallav Paliwal, reminded her that social media coverage often reaches audiences faster than print media.
Others, including Manav Manglani and Varinder Chawla, acknowledged issues caused by untrained vloggers but insisted that genuine paparazzi shouldn’t be insulted.
