LAHORE (Dunya News) – Pakistan's all-rounder, Mohammad Nawaz, has emerged as the top performer in the national T20 team for the year 2025, showcasing exceptional skill and consistency throughout the year.
The 31-year-old left-arm spinner and batsman from Rawalpindi earned the trust and confidence of White-ball head coach Mike Hesson, and he delivered consistently, especially in the T20 format.
Nawaz’s remarkable performances included being named Man of the Series in July 2025 after taking 7 wickets at an average of 21.52 against the West Indies in Florida.
He followed that up with a stellar showing in the August 2025 series in Sharjah, where Pakistan faced Afghanistan and the UAE. In that series, Nawaz scored 120 runs and took 10 wickets in 5 matches, emerging as the best player.
He further solidified his position as one of Pakistan’s top T20 players in November 2025, playing a crucial role in the tri-series involving Pakistan, Sri Lanka, and Zimbabwe in Rawalpindi. Nawaz contributed with both bat and ball, scoring 52 runs and taking 10 wickets, earning him the title of the best player of the series.
In total, Nawaz featured in 26 T20 matches in 2025, being named the Player of the Series four times. Over the course of the year, he bowled 74.4 overs, giving away 490 runs and taking the most wickets in T20s in 2025, with 36 wickets at an average of 13.16.
As a left-handed batsman, Nawaz also made a significant impact with the bat, amassing 362 runs at an average of 19.05. His highest score was 38 (not out), and he played at an impressive strike rate of 138.16, hitting 24 boundaries and 21 sixes.
