PESHAWAR (Zeeshan Kakakhail) – Taking notice of the slow pace of repatriation of illegal Afghan nationals in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, the KP Home Department has issued strict directives to law-enforcement agencies to accelerate operations.
TheKP Home Department stated that it is extremely displeased over the lack of effective action against illegal Afghan citizens residing in the province.
Police have been instructed to take immediate action against Afghan nationals living in rented houses.
According to the department, refugee camps established for Afghan migrants have become a financial burden on the provincial government, which has therefore decided to shut them down as it can no longer bear the expenses.
The department further said that complete data of illegal Afghan nationals should be provided to district police officers, and wherever data has already been compiled, it should be handed over to the relevant departments so operations can begin.
It is noteworthy that the process of expelling illegal Afghan residents across the province has slowed down considerably, prompting the department to issue urgent instructions to all agencies.
