LAHORE (Dunya News) – Following the brutal killing of two lawyers, a complete strike is being observed today on the call of the Punjab Bar Council.
According to details, on the fourth consecutive day of the shutdown, the judicial system remains completely disrupted due to the suspension of court proceedings.
The Bar president said that lawyers will not appear in courts as a form of protest and that even urgent cases will not be allowed to proceed today.
The Bar secretary stated that lawyers have also been barred from entering the court premises. He added that in Vehari, CTD killed lawyer Zeeshan over enmity, while in Jhang, former district bar president Mehr Munir was murdered.
The Bar president demanded that the killers of both lawyers be arrested and that a case be registered under the Lawyers’ Protection Act. Due to the strike, all cases are being adjourned without any proceedings.
