In just five days, Stranger Things Season 5 amassed an impressive 59.6 million views, making it the biggest opening of the year so far.
According to international media reports, Season 5 has secured the title of the ‘biggest opening for any English-language series on the platform.
This performance also places the new season as the ‘third-largest launch in Netflix’s history. The top two positions continue to be held by the Korean blockbuster ‘Squid Game’ Seasons 2 and 3, which previously set unmatched records.
Interestingly, the opening numbers of Stranger Things Season 5 are ‘171% higher’ than those of the previous season. It is an extraordinary surge that clearly reflects the growing excitement and anticipation among fans. Even before its release, the season had generated massive hype.

For the first time ever, all five seasons of ‘Stranger Things’ simultaneously appeared in Netflix’s global top 10 list, highlighting the immense popularity of the franchise.
Reports indicate that the first four episodes of Season 5 have already been released. Three additional episodes are scheduled to drop on ‘Christmas Day’, while the ‘final episode’ will premiere on ‘New Year’s Eve’, adding to the festive excitement for viewers around the world.
In Netflix’s weekly top list, Kevin Hart’s comedy special “Acting My Age” has also climbed to the second spot with 9.2 million views.
Meanwhile, in the film category, “Jingle Bell Heist” dominated the charts, securing the number one position with 19.3 million views.
