LAHORE (Dunya News) – The Punjab government has formally granted legal status to the Suthra Punjab Programme, with the Suthra Punjab Authority Ordinance 2025 set to be presented in the Punjab Assembly today for approval.
According to the ordinance, the Suthra Punjab Authority will be responsible for ensuring cleanliness and waste management across the province.
A Suthra Punjab Agency will be established in every district.
The text states that the Authority will determine legal regulations and fees related to waste management for its district-level agencies. It will also oversee all cleanliness operations and be responsible for setting up waste collection points.
As per the ordinance being presented today, the CM will serve as the chairperson of the Authority, the local government minister as the vice-chairperson, while the deputy commissioner will serve as the chairperson of the district-level Suthra Punjab Agency.
