In September, Pakistan and Bahrain agreed to strengthen collaboration in counter-terrorism, anti-narcotics, immigration and coast guard operations. The agreement, finalised during a meeting between Pakistan’s Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi and Bahraini Interior Minister General Rashid bin Abdullah Al Khalifa, also covered enhanced cooperation in border security and police training. Both sides decided to establish a Joint Working Group to oversee cooperation in these strategic areas.

The two countries are also working toward formalising multiple Memoranda of Understanding on extradition, mutual legal assistance and specialised battalion training. Officials say these frameworks will bolster institutional collaboration, promote security partnerships and support effective implementation of shared objectives.

The Foreign Office stated that this official visit underscores Pakistan’s continued engagement with Bahrain, aimed at fostering a results-oriented and strategic partnership based on mutual benefit and regional stability.
