Following the meeting, Senator Ishaq Dar hosted a luncheon in honour of General Sahir Shamshad Mirza, recognising his distinguished services to the nation. Senior officials attended the event, reflecting institutional appreciation for his leadership and his efforts to uphold military professionalism, joint operational readiness and national defence objectives.

General Sahir Mirza, a career military officer, is completing his tenure as the 18th and final CJCSC. His leadership is credited with promoting inter-services harmony, strengthening joint military strategy and advancing Pakistan’s broader defence cooperation with friendly countries. His farewell engagements reflect the transition period as the position of CJCSC stands abolished under the 27th Constitutional Amendment, making way for the newly constituted Chief of Defence Forces role.
