Outgoing CJCSC Gen Sahir Shamshad Mirza pays farewell call to PM Shehbaz

Outgoing CJCSC General Sahir Shamshad Mirza meets Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif, completing tenure as final CJCSC.

ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) – Outgoing Chairman Joint Chiefs of Staff Committee (CJCSC), General Sahir Shamshad Mirza, paid a farewell visit to Prime Minister Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif.

During the meeting, the Prime Minister praised General Sahir Shamshad Mirza for his professional abilities and services to the country and nation.

General Sahir Shamshad Mirza will be the 18th and final CJCSC of the armed forces, completing his tenure on November 27, 2025.

Following the 27th Constitutional Amendment, no CJCSC will be appointed after General Sahir Shamshad Mirza.

Pakistan’s first CJCSC was General Muhammad Sharif, appointed by then-Prime Minister Zulfiqar Ali Bhutto on March 1, 1976.

Notably, former CJCSCs Admiral Muhammad Sharif and Admiral Iftikhar Ahmed Sirohey were from the Navy, while only Air Chief Marshal Farooq Feroze Khan from the Pakistan Air Force has served as CJCSC.
