ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) - Minister for Planning, Development and Special Initiatives Professor Ahsan Iqbal on Sunday said Pakistan has regained a respectable standing on the international stage and economic indicators continue to improve.

Ahsan Iqbal said Pakistan has been steered back onto the path of growth due to the government’s consistent policy discipline and responsible economic management.

Ahsan Iqbal said that Pakistan is moving in a positive direction, with the economy now far stronger than it was two years ago. He said that inflation has dropped sharply, interest rates have eased, and investor confidence is gradually returning.

These improvements, he added, were the result of tough but necessary decisions taken under the leadership of Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif.

The minister said the government has revived trust with China and moved the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) into its second phase. The new phase, he noted, shifts the focus from traditional infrastructure projects to technology-driven economic transformation.

He emphasized that peace, unity and policy continuity are essential to sustain the current economic momentum and secure long-term prosperity for the country.
