Govt committed to women empowerment, says DPM Dar

Dar reaffirmed the government’s commitment to women’s empowerment while speaking at the inauguration of the Annual Charity Bazaar 2025 organised by the Pakistan Foreign Office Women’s Association

ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) - Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar said that the government is committed to empowering women and advancing welfare initiatives aimed at improving their socio-economic well-being.

He said this while addressing the inaugural ceremony of the Annual Charity Bazaar 2025, organised by the Pakistan Foreign Office Women's Association, in Islamabad on Sunday.

Ishaq Dar, along with Foreign Secretary Amna Baloch, visited various stalls set up by participating countries at the event.

Addressing the ceremony, Ishaq Dar said that PFOWA's commitment to humanitarian causes reflects service beyond duty and the highest values of public responsibility.

He said the stalls set up by Pakistan's friendly countries symbolize cooperation and friendship.

He said that our faith emphasises the virtue of giving, and the work of the Pakistan Foreign Office Women's Association is a testament to this principle in action.

Deputy Prime Minister Ishaq Dar said PFOWA carries a proud legacy of generosity, extending its support not only to families of the Foreign Service but also to underprivileged communities across the country.

He noted that PFOWA has made tangible contributions in the fields of education, health, and social welfare.

He said the association's outreach during the recent floods, including contributions to the National Disaster Management Authority, the Prime Minister's Relief Fund, and support for PIMS and Polyclinic hospitals, demonstrates the organisation's consistent impact on social development and humanitarian service.
