Control rooms set up in Islamabad, Lahore for smooth voting in by-elections

ISLAMABAD/LAHORE (Dunya News) – Control rooms have been established at the Election Commission headquarters in Islamabad and Lahore to monitor the by-elections in six National Assembly and seven Punjab Assembly constituencies on Sunday.

The control room established at the Election Commission headquarters in Islamabad is being supervised by Additional Director General Haroon Shinwari.

Meanwhile, a spokesperson for the Punjab Election Commissioner said that polling has been ongoing at all polling stations under strict security arrangements.

He stated that citizens should come to polling stations without any fear and exercise their right to vote. Disabled persons, pregnant women, senior citizens, and transgender persons will be given priority in casting their votes at polling stations.

According to the spokesperson, mobile phones are not allowed inside polling stations. Citizens should maintain the secrecy of their vote and refrain from taking photos of the ballot paper.
