Eight Indian-sponsored terrorists were neutralised in Bannu, with weapons and ammunition recovered by security forces.

RAWALPINDI (Dunya News) – Eight terrorists have been eliminated after security forces conducted a joint intelligence-based operation in Bannu district of Khyber Pakthunkhwa, the military’s media wing said on Saturday.

The operation targeted a known hideout of the Indian-sponsored Fitna Al Khwarij, according to a statement by Inter Services Public Relations (ISPR).

During the engagement, troops effectively neutralised eight Khwarij terrorists after an intense exchange of fire. Weapons and ammunition were recovered from the site, confirming the group’s active involvement in terrorist activities, including attacks on security forces and the targeted killing of civilians.

Law enforcement agencies have intensified intelligence-driven campaigns in the region, and these carefully planned and synchronised measures aim to restrict militant mobility, dismantle facilitation networks, and curtail the ability of Khwarij elements to regroup. Authorities reported measurable successes from these ongoing operations.

A sanitisation operation is underway to identify and eliminate any remaining Indian-sponsored militants in the area. This effort forms part of the broader counter-terrorism campaign under the vision “Azm-e-Istehkam”, as approved by the Federal Apex Committee on the National Action Plan.
