KARACHI (Dunya News) – The Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX) ended the day in the red on Thursday, as the benchmark KSE-100 Index fell sharply, losing 834 points to close at 162,109.
During the session, the index swung between highs and lows, touching an intraday peak of 163,357 points and a low of 161,853.
Trading activity remained strong, with 768 million shares changing hands, generating a turnover of over Rs 28 billion.
Out of 475 listed companies, 144 stocks ended in the green, while 289 closed in the red, showing that sellers held the upper hand throughout the day.
Earlier in the morning, the market got off to a flying start, gaining more than 400 points and pushing the KSE-100 to 163,357.
However, profit-taking and market pressure later pulled the index down, causing a sharp reversal by the close.
