PESHAWAR (Dunya News) - Pakistan Army and law enforcement agencies have recovered US and NATO weapons from terrorists in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, originally intended for use in Afghanistan.
According to security sources, the operations were conducted across various districts in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, during which weapons and military equipment previously used by US and NATO forces were seized and displayed to the media.
The recovered arsenal includes M4 and M16 rifles, other modern firearms, night vision goggles, and advanced equipment. High-quality explosives and wiring used by US and NATO forces were also recovered.
Officials warned that extremist groups like Fitna al-Khawarij could target Pakistani forces even at night using these weapons. Some of the firearms contained steel-core bullets capable of penetrating bulletproof jackets.
Security sources confirmed that the weapons were left behind during the withdrawal of US and NATO forces from Afghanistan and are now being used by terrorists against Pakistan’s law enforcement agencies. The seized weapons clearly bear markings identifying them as the property of the US government.
