DUBAI (Dunya News) - The crash of India’s Tejas aircraft at the Dubai Air Show has laid bare deep-rooted corruption and technical flaws in India’s defence procurement system.
According to reports, corruption and defects in defence equipment purchases effectively pushed Tejas towards “suicide.” The indigenously manufactured fighter jet went down due to serious technical shortcomings during its performance at the air show.
Sources say the crash reflects India's persistent defence incompetence, fueled by corruption within procurement processes. Indian Air Chief A.P. Singh had recently exposed widespread irregularities and inefficiencies in defence deals.
Air Chief Singh had warned earlier that “timelines have been buried,” acknowledging that no major defence project in India is completed on schedule. He said many systems “may never arrive,” yet agreements continue to be signed regardless.
Observers argue that sending a faulty aircraft to an international air show reflects the arrogance and false pride of the Modi government, which remains lost in illusions of grandeur.
The collapse of the so-called “56-inch chest” has intensified global concerns, while Operation Sundoor is expected to serve as a major wake-up call for India’s defence leadership.
