KARACHI (Dunya News) - Karachi Mayor Murtaza Wahab on Thursday urged Sindh Governor Kamran Tessori not to indulge in politics, emphasizing that the Governor's position is apolitical.

Wahab criticized Governor Tessori, a member of the Muttahida Qaumi Movement-Pakistan (MQM-P), for engaging in political rhetoric and activities. Wahab has stressed that the office of the governor is a constitutional and non-partisan position, and the occupant should not represent any single political party.

Murtaza Wahab said that the Sindh governor, as a constitutional head, does not have the authority to make political statements and advised Kamran Tessori to study constitution.

He said that the MQM-P is giving false hopes to the public on the issue of the 27th Amendment. He said that MQM-P leaders’ statements did not match when they speak in Karachi, Sukkur and Islamabad.

MQM’s friends should decide whether they support the local government system being implemented in Punjab, he said.
