ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) - The inaugural session of the 11th National Finance Commission (NFC) Award, constituted three months ago, has been scheduled for December 4. A notification in this regard has also been issued.
The Ministry of Finance has extended invitation to all four provinces for the meeting. Federal Minister for Finance and Revenue, Senator Muhammad Aurangzeb, will preside over the introductory meeting of the NFC.
According to sources, the IMF will also be on board regarding the new NFC Award. The finance ministers of all four provinces and members of the technocrat commission will participate.
All NFC members have been invited to attend the meeting. Nasir Mehmood Khosa from Punjab, Asad Saeed from Sindh, Farmanullah from Balochistan, and Musharraf Rasool from Khyber Pakhtunkhwa will attend the meeting.
According to sources, recommendations related to the award and a review of forming sub-groups are part of the agenda. A plan of action regarding future meetings will also be formulated.
According to Finance Ministry sources, the federal finance secretary will serve as the commission’s official expert.
