Aleema Khan finally appears before ATC in Rawalpindi after 11 non-bailable warrants

The court also halted the process of confiscating her property by the state

RAWALPINDI (Dunya News) – Aleema Khan, sister of incarcerated PTI founder Imran Khan, appeared before the court after 11 non-bailable arrest warrants had been issued against her.

She appeared in connection with a case registered over the November 26 protest. Her lawyer Faisal Malik and Special Prosecutor Zaheer Shah also arrived with their teams. Ten other accused individuals and all five witnesses were present in court.

The hearing was conducted by Judge Amjad Ali Shah of the Rawalpindi Anti-Terrorism Court (ATC). Aleema Khan challenged the inclusion of Section 7 ATA (Anti-Terrorism Act) in the case, calling it unlawful.

She requested the cancellation of all arrest warrants issued against her and the restoration of her frozen bank accounts. The court accepted her plea for hearing regarding the removal of Section 7 ATA and issued a notice to the state counsel, summoning arguments on November 26.

The court also halted the process of confiscating her property by the state.

The hearing lasted for more than an hour and remained heated. The state prosecutor strongly opposed canceling the warrants and restoring bank accounts. However, the court revoked all outstanding warrants, instructed Aleema Khan to ensure her presence at the next hearing, and summoned all five witnesses for the upcoming date.

The case against Aleema Khan, registered at Sadiqabad Police Station, accuses her of inciting workers toward violent protest, arson, and interfering in government duties during the November 26 demonstration.
