(Dunya News) - Bangladesh’s veteran wicketkeeper-batsman Mushfiqur Rahim made history on Thursday by scoring a century in his 100th Test match, during the second day of the second game of the two-match series against Ireland in Mirpur.
The 38-year-old Rahim became the first Bangladeshi cricketer to reach the milestone of 100 Test appearances and the 11th batter in the history of Test cricket to score a century in their 100th match. This innings also marked Rahim’s 13th century in Test cricket.
Already the most capped Bangladeshi player in the longest format, Rahim reached three figures in just 195 balls, showcasing his trademark composure and skill behind the stumps and with the bat. His innings included several elegant boundaries, highlighting his enduring class and fitness at the international level.
Mushfiqur Rahim made his Test debut in 2005 and holds the record as the youngest player to debut at Lord’s for Bangladesh, a record that still stands. Over the years, he has been a cornerstone of Bangladesh’s batting lineup, earning acclaim for his consistency, resilience, and leadership.
