LAHORE (Muhammad Ashfaq) – Under the directions of Lahore High Court Chief Justice Aalia Neelum, the model courts are making strong strides toward providing swift justice.

As a direct result of comprehensive judicial reforms, a modern case management system, and effective monitoring by the Lahore High Court, the model courts delivered exceptional performance in October 2025, deciding 12,275 cases. This initiative has not only reduced the backlog of pending cases but also strengthened the confidence of lawyers and litigants in the justice system.

According to monthly performance statistics, the criminal model courts decided 1,072 cases last month, including 115 murder cases, 376 narcotics-related cases, and several illegal possession cases. Meanwhile, the appellate model courts of Additional District Judges issued decisions in 292 civil and family appeals, supervisory cases, and other matters.

Similarly, the greatest contribution to speedy justice came from the model civil and magisterial courts, which collectively disposed of 10,911 cases. The model civil courts decided 2,162 cases in a month, including regular civil, family, guardianship, rent, and other matters. The model magistrate courts issued decisions in a total of 8,749 cases, including first-class, Section 30, and minor offence cases.

It is noteworthy that all model courts across Punjab strictly adhered to hearing timelines, ensuring swift and quality verdicts — a practical reflection of the success of Lahore High Court’s modern judicial reforms, case management system, active monitoring, and transparency-driven strategy.

Chief Justice Lahore High Court, Justice Aalia Neelum, appreciated the performance of model courts across the province, stating that swift and quality justice is the judiciary’s top priority, and the process of modernizing the judicial system will continue with the same commitment.
