(Web Desk) - A teenage beauty queen was tragically killed after a high-speed collision with a pick-up truck in Guatemala.
Ivana Marcela López Muralles, 15, struck the vehicle head-on while riding her motorbike.
Neither she nor the driver managed to slam on the brakes before the disaster occurred.
The pick-up, reportedly hurtling down the road at speed, ran her over and dragged her several yards before coming to a halt.
Muralles was pronounced dead at the scene.
The driver, whose identity has not been disclosed, was reportedly detained by authorities.
The motorbike ended up trapped under the vehicle’s chassis in Nueva Concepción, south-west Guatemala last Thursday night.
Muralles had been a fixture in school and local beauty pageants since childhood, as reported by NeedToKnow.
She was the current Flor de la Feria Queen 2024-2025 of Nueva Concepción, preparing to hand over her title in the coming months.
Her hearse was adorned with all the sashes from the pageants she had won at her funeral on Saturday
The Municipality of Nueva Concepción paid tribute, saying: “Ivana will be remembered not only for her beauty and charm, but above all for the humility that always defined her and her spirit of solidarity towards others.
“Her willingness to lend a hand to those in need, her dedication to community service, and her warmth leave an indelible mark on all who had the privilege of knowing her.”
