MUMBAI (Web Desk) – India’s entertainment industry has reached a new milestone with the debut of its first AI actress.
Naina Avtr made her acting debut with the micro-drama Truth and Lies, which premiered on Instagram Reels on 21st October 2025.
Set against the backdrop of a Mumbai night, the series explores themes of friendship, betrayal and trust in one-minute episodes, and is created entirely by a female production team.
Naina Avtr is more than just a digital character; she has been designed to understand and reflect Indian emotions, culture, and human stories. On screen, she appears alongside human actors, with eye angles and lighting carefully adjusted to make each scene feel authentic.
The series combines AI, 3D technology, and real-time storytelling techniques, with every episode reviewed for ethical standards before release. According to Abhishek Razdan, co-founder and CEO of Avtr Meta Labs, Naina’s creation goes beyond building a digital model. She is a personality equipped to understand emotions and social sensitivities, including humour, flaws, and the ability to form connections, making her feel real and relatable.
Unlike other global AI characters, Naina focuses not only on technology but also on emotional depth and cultural relevance. She herself states, “I am not here to replace humans, but to show them through every emotion.”
Truth and Lies offers Indian audiences a new way to experience storytelling, where digital characters can feel authentic and emotionally engaging. New episodes of the micro-drama are being released regularly on Naina Avtr’s official Instagram page, paving the way for future experiments with technology-driven, emotionally rich narratives.
