RAWALPINDI (Dunya News) - According to the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), security forces eliminated 23 extremists during two separate operations in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
The ISPR stated that operations against India-backed terrorist networks have been intensified.
Two separate actions were conducted in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, resulting in the elimination of 23 extremists linked to the Indian proxy militant group Fitna-ul-Khawarij.
In Bajaur district, security forces launched an intelligence-based operation after receiving reports of extremist presence. During the operation, the hideouts of the militants were effectively targeted.
According to ISPR, 11 extremists — including their ringleader Sajjad alias Abu Zar — were killed.
In a second intelligence-based operation in Bannu district, another 12 extremists were killed.
Security forces and law enforcement agencies reiterated their commitment to pursuing the vision of “Azm-e-Istehkam”, under which operations continue to eliminate India-sponsored militants.
ISPR added that an extremist affiliated with the Indian proxy group was killed in Bannu while attempting to plant an improvised explosive device (IED), thwarting a planned attack on innocent civilians.
According to ISPR, after repeated failures, terrorists are attempting to target soft targets, but effective counter-terrorism operations are significantly degrading their capabilities. The commitment to completely eradicate terrorism under the vision of “Azm-e-Istehkam” remains firm.
