PM Shehbaz meets Jasdeep Singh, vows more facilities for Sikh pilgrims

Shehbaz Sharif met US-based Sikh leader Jasdeep Singh, reaffirming Pakistan’s commitment to improving facilities for Sikh pilgrims and vowing enhanced welfare and services for the community.

ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) - Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif met US-based Sikh community organization head, Jasdeep Singh, during the latter’s visit to Pakistan.

Federal Minister for Law and Justice Azam Nazeer Tarar and Pakistani-American businessman Sajid Tarar were also present at the meeting. The Prime Minister welcomed Jasdeep Singh to Pakistan.

Shehbaz Sharif said on the occasion that Pakistan is home to many sacred Sikh religious sites visited by devotees from around the world, and the country takes pride in hosting them.

He added that Pakistan is striving to provide maximum facilities to Sikh pilgrims, stressing that maintaining gurdwaras and ensuring services at these holy places remains a national honour.

The Prime Minister said a comprehensive strategy will be developed for the welfare of the Sikh community residing in Pakistan and for enhancing facilities for Sikh pilgrims from abroad.

Speaking about overseas Pakistanis, Shehbaz Sharif noted that expatriates play a vital role in the country’s development, prosperity, and global reputation.

Jasdeep Singh expressed gratitude to Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and the Government of Pakistan for their hospitality and for the care extended to Sikh pilgrims visiting the country.
