BUREWALA (Dunya News) – An alleged robber was killed and a constable injured in an exchange of fire between outlaws and CCD police, Dunya News reported here on Monday night.
The injured official identified as Ansar was admitted to hospital. The suspected outlaw identified as Qamar-uz-Zaman was fugitive and wanted in dozens of cases of robbery and other heinous crimes. According to CCD, police got information about the presence of robbers in an area of the city.
When law enforcers reached there, the suspected criminals opened fire on the police, who in their defence retaliated, triggering a shootout, which continued for some time.
When firing stopped, police found a robber dead in the fields and a policeman injured. Initial investigation suggests, the suspect was killed in the firing of their own accomplices, who escaped. Police have launched a manhunt for the fleeing criminals.
