In Karachi, the price of sugar per kilogram has reached Rs200. The price of sugar per kilogram in Lahore has reached Rs190, in Peshawar sugar is being sold for Rs190 to Rs200 per kilogram, and in Rawalpindi sugar is also being sold for Rs190 to Rs. 200 per kilogram.
The price of sugar in Quetta increased by Rs 10, starting at Rs 230 per kg. A Rs50 increase in the price of sugar was recorded in Quetta within a month.
In a shocking breach of the government’s agreement with sugar mill owners, the price of sugar has surged, raising concerns over regulatory enforcement and consumer protection.
